Brazilian Bikini Waxing (BBW) has taken off like wildfire in salons and spas across the country as a result of its popularity among models like Naomi Campbell and actresses like Gweneth Paltrow. The J-Sisters Salon in New York, which caters to the celeb clients, is home to the waxologists who paved the way for BBW in salons across the USA. When magazines learned that hot celebrities were getting this done in the late 1990s, they went crazy and it took off!

What’s the origin of this?

Despite the fact that Brazil is famous for it, the Middle East is believed to be its true place of origin. In order for their husbands to be present on their memorable wedding night, brides would prepare themselves for their honeymoons by shaving all pubic hair. Brazilian bikinis, in my opinion, are more for hygiene and aesthetic reasons than for sex despite the fact that waxing has long been a popular practice in Brazil. Brazil is well-known for its stunning beaches as well as its extremely small bikinis. Nobody wants to flaunt a buz, especially down there, in order to wear such tiny bikinis. In order to prevent hair from showing while lying on one of Brazil’s many sunny beaches, women wax their inner thighs enough (also known as their bikini lines). So this also applies to the buttocks, which is the term for the area behind the back. Consider for a moment whether your hair would protrude from a bikini if you had to wear one in public. If the answer is yes, you obviously need a bikini waxing. But, as you probably already know, most Brazilian women do not go all the way and remove the wax completely. In Brazil, it is done to give off a clean, fresh, hygienic appearance; in America, it now has a completely different meaning.

Exactly how did it get to the US?

Not to say that Brazilians do not also do this for bedroom intimacy also (they all want to look sexy and hot on the beach) but among Americans the “Brazilian Bikini Wax” has become known solely to satisfy one’s mate. I don’t know if it’s a sexual fantasy, but I do know that more and more women think about it, fearing the pain but fantasizing about the outcomes.. Men do appreciate a well-groomed woman, especially in bed, let’s face it. Both the full Brazilian and the standard bikini wax look great, and men really enjoy them.

Definition

Waxing is the process of removing unwanted hair by applying hot or cold wax to the desired hairy region and removing it with a piece of cloth or plastic. Ever have tape or a band aid stuck to your arm by a hairy area, and you take your time taking it off, but once you do, you feel so relieved? Getting a BBW is exactly like that. The inner thigh, pubic hair, and bikini areas are all treated with bikini wax to remove hair. Wikipedia defines it as “Waxing that is done on the bikini area is known as Brazilian waxing. The buttocks, as well as the areas around the anus, perineum, and vulva (labia majora and mons pubis), are completely hair-free after this procedure. Brazilians are extremely thorough when they perform the bikini line, going as far as to also perform the area where the inner buttock joins the inner thigh. When completing one, keep your specificity in mind. Ask questions and get recommendations from friends because finding a good waxologist is similar to finding a good hairdresser or, perhaps more similarly, similar to finding a good gynecologist because you are both intimate (almost—there are no exams, though)…. Anyone who claims it doesn’t hurt is lying outright! Although it hurts, once you see the outcome, you are so happy that you want more.
